2 June, 2010 - Home Support Workers’ Newsletter launched
This week saw the launch of the first newsletter dedicated to Home Support Workers for older people. The newsletter simply titled ‘Home Support Workers’ was launched by the Netwell Centre at the Dundalk Institute of Technology as part of their ongoing work with the HSE to develop more integrated services in the community. Lucia Carragher, a researcher in the Netwell Centre, said, “Home Support Workers are an important part of primary care services which support older people to remain in their own homes and communities. This newsletter will provide an insight into the ongoing work of carers across the County. The newsletter also provides an opportunity for others involved in the care of older people to contribute to a growing awareness of the importance of primary care services in the context of an ageing population."
