Title: Nestling Project



Project Lead:
Rodd Bond



Description: A collaborative demonstration project aimed at developing innovative service models to support older-people to age-in-place in their own homes, based on a closer integration of community care, physical environment, and technology dimensions. The 16 unit demonstration project, located in Dundalk, aims to provide a more adaptable social and physical environment that it more responsive to older peoples' needs, and which will enhance the quality of life for ageing people living independently.

 


 

Title: BRAID

 

Project Lead: Ben Knapp & Rodd Bond

 

Description: Bridging Research in Ageing and ICT Development (BRAID) will develop a comprehensive RTD (Research and Technology Development) roadmap for active ageing, by consolidating existing roadmaps.

 

 


 

Title: BMW Briefings

Description: AWARE HOMES | AWARE CARE - Opportunities in Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) and Geron-technology.  A Series of three Research Briefing Workshops for SME's on Building Competitive Advantage in the AAL Market.

 


 

Title: Bosch Telehealth Trial

 

Project Lead: Andrew Macfarlane

 

Description: Robert Bosch Healthcare, Inc.—a leader in telehealth—is undertaking it’s first European trial of the Health Buddy® remote patient monitoring system in Ireland.

 


 

Title: Home Sweet Home

 

Project Lead: Rodd Bond

 

Description: Home Sweet Home (HSH) will trial a new, economically sustainable home assistance service which extends elders independent living.

 


 

Title: Louth Age Friendly County Initiative

 

Project Lead: Rodd Bond

 

Description: Louth will be the first age-friendly county in Ireland, and will lead the way for others to follow.

 


 

Title: Respect

 

Project Lead: Lucia Carragher

 

Description: Respect aims to ensure that migrant workers are treated with fairness and dignity at work and in society and to foster peace and reconciliation through enhanced cross-community understanding.

 


 

Title: SPIRAL

 

Project Lead: Lucia Carragher

 

Description: SPIRAL aims to use storytelling to facilitate an understanding of the past and a greater appreciation for the benefits of peace in the northeast cross-border region.  It is a joint initiative between the Netwell Centre and Diversity Challenges, a Northern Ireland organization which aims to facilitate a shared understanding in diverse cultural groups.

 


 

Title: Teaghlach

 

Project Lead: Lucia Carragher

 

Description: The Teaghlach Project aims to change the culture of care to one which supports older people to direct their own lives ‘at home’ supported by consistent and valued teams of health care staff in an environment reflective as much as possible of the older person’s own home.

 


 

Title: The Way We Were

 

Project Lead: Lucia Carragher

 

Description: The Way We Were reflects, remembers and celebrates Dundalk’s railway and captures the daily routines and heritage of pre and post 1950s Dundalk and the adjacent areas of south Armagh, Down, Fermanagh and Antrim.

Completed Projects

Title: WHO - Age Friendly Cities

 

Description: The WHO Age-Friendly cities project sought to identify the concrete indicators of an age-friendly city and to produce a practical guide to support advocacy, community development and policy change to make urban communities more age friendly.
